Turning of the Cannabis Tide

There’s a class in Windsor that will teach you to grow cannabis.

The lounge providing it already offers patents a spot to devour their medication.

Leo Lucier, the proprietor of the lounge, hopes the federal authorities will legislate legalization in his favour.

Since hashish use for medicinal functions is a constitutional proper, upheld by the courts, Lucier, like so many others, is retaining a watchful eye for the brand new laws the Liberals should announce by Aug. 24.

And, in fact, as a substitute of merely imposing the regulation, the police are sticking their nostril into the controversy with their opinions.

New Mexico's Backlog of Medical Pot Applications Criticized

The New Mexico Department of Health came under fire Thursday for its handling of a backlog of applications for medical marijuana identification cards, with one Democratic senator suggesting the agency could face court sanctions in the case of a lawsuit and the state auditor calling the situation a “public health emergency.”

The average time for processing a medical marijuana ID card is now 43 days, continuing to exceed the 30-day limit set by state law, according to DOH.

But an agency spokesman said the department is making progress in processing a surge of requests for the state-required ID cards – both from new patients and those seeking renewals.

British Man Who Ran Cannabis Advice Centre Jailed for 20 Months

A man who operated a controversial “cannabis advice centre” from a Dundee shop-front has been jailed after pleading guilty to stashing £35,000 worth of drugs in his home.

Nik Brown, who ran the Dundee Cannabis Collective from a premises on Dundee’s Strathmartine Road, championed drug legalisation and claimed to give members of the public advice on the benefits of using medicinal cannabis.

Brown, of Laing Street, was found to be in possession of more than £35,000 worth of cannabis in September last year after fire crew attended his home following reports of a fire.

They forced entry and extinguished a small kitchen fire, which started because the accused had left food unattended on the cooker.
