Basic Guide to Growing Cannabis

Growing medical cannabis is a popular hobby, especially in countries where growing medical marijuana is legal. Many cannabis organisations have already covered this topic extensively, but we are presenting you with a quick and handy outline to growing cannabis at home.

Obviously it is important to note that different strains of Cannabis can have quite a broad range of different growing requirements.

**Please only grow cannabis if it is legal to do so in the country where you live. We urge you to check your local laws before ever attempting to grow or purchase cannabis seeds.**

City of Renton limits marijuana stores to total of five

As the state eased restrictions on marijuana licensing and opened a new round of applications for medical marijuana facilities applying for a state license to open as a retail store, the City of Renton last month passed an emergency ordinance limiting to five the total number of stores within the city.

According to City Attorney Larry Warren, the city received a letter from the state Liquor and Cannabis Board announcing their plans to lift the limit on the number of stores within a municipality, prompting action from the city.

"We were all a little surprised the Liquor Control Board took all of the restrictions off," Council President Ed Prince said this week.

"So we rushed our number through, five," Warren said.

Alaska may be first state to allow marijuana cafes

Alaska is on track to be the first state in the nation to allow recreational use of cannabis at venues similar to a bar or a cafe.  In its Friday meeting, the state’s Marijuana Control Board adopted an amendment creating a permit option that will allow for on-site consumption. The measure opens the door for commercial marijuana retailers to set up areas where patrons can use marijuana products. Theresa Collins owns Anchorage business Pot Luck Events, which won a victory with the board’s ruling on the measure, as well as another amendment lifting a ban on marijuana clubs.

Church of the Universe A Cannabis world united

The movement for a world united by Cannabis began, in 1969,when Walter Tucker (1932-2012) founded the Church of the Universe in Ontario, Canada. Within 46 years the movement had grown to an estimated 90 million members, far surpassing many other organized religions across the globe.

The Church of the Universe holds the Tree of Life, Marijuana as sacred from the Garden of Eden, a gift from God. The church mandate: “…to worship God and live with the the Tree of Life, Marijuana, in harmony with the Universe. We, God’s people, believe that it is our responsibility to defend our right to our sacrament, the Tree of Life, and encourage the worship and adherence to the Law of God to earn the right to the Tree of Life and The Water of Life…”

The Science Behind Cannabis-Infused Cocktails

Behind the bars of some of the nation's finest cocktail joints, there are secrets: secret recipes, secret bottles for friends only. One of these is the Green Dragon, a liquor potently infused with marijuana.

There've been alcohol-based tinctures of cannabis before, of course -- usually seen in turbid brown jars on windowsills, But one prominent New York bartender (I'll call him Jon) has been responsible for bringing the infusion up to date with modern, artisanal cocktail culture. Jon is a serious, technologically minded craftsman of beverages; he works as a cocktail consultant, and has designed the cocktail programs of more than one Manhattan bar.

The Case For Sensible Joints

It seems like rapper-sized, two-gram joints get all the attention: but really, isn't that gigantic hexa-barrel blunt a little bit excessive?

It's high time that we started to celebrate the virtues of the modest pinner: that cute, little J that gets you slightly-elevated as opposed to couch-locked, flat-out blazed.

Here's why you should master the art/science of crafting a perfectly-sized, professional-quality joint.

Alaska board OKs marijuana use in retail pot shops

The Marijuana Control Board voted to allow consumption of marijuana at retail stores, which, if approved by Lt. Gov. Byron Mallott, would make Alaska the first state to permit a regulated area for marijuana consumption outside of a person’s home or other private spaces.

The change allows for people to buy marijuana at a retail store and consume it in a designated area on the premises.

The board voted 3-2 in favor of the amendment, with Loren Jones, public health board member, and Peter Mlynarik, the public safety board member, dissenting.

The regulations will go to the Department of Law for a formal review before heading to Mallott's desk.
