Marijuana Legalization 2015: Proposed New Law Aims To Allow Cannabis In Bars And Clubs, But Is That The Best Way To Socially Smoke Pot?

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado -- It’s a busy afternoon at The Lazy Lion, a members-only marijuana club in this notoriously conservative city. Inside the windowless one-story building in an industrial part of town, attendees who’ve paid the club’s $5 daily membership fee line up at a glass bar to acquire bags of marijuana or take hits from one of the establishment’s water pipes, for which they hand over a cash “reimbursement” (under Colorado law, people aren’t allowed to consume cannabis at locations licensed to sell marijuana).

French police seize 6 tonnes of cannabis in drug bust - Yahoo News UK

French police discovered nearly six tonnes of cannabis resin, known as hashish, in a villa in the southern city of Marseille and arrested three men, the interior ministry said Monday.

The drug bust came after months of investigation and is one of the biggest seizures of cannabis in France in recent years.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in a statement that police had tracked the three men believed to be involved in a vast drug trafficking network to Marseille and the nearby town of Vitrolles on Sunday.

They found 5.6 tonnes of hashish in a villa and another 150 kilos of the drug in a car.

Cazeneuve, who will visit Marseille later Monday, congratulated officers on their "major success".

Team Cannabis Joins AIDS Walk San Francisco

One would be hard-pressed to find a pair of more socially divergent cultures than those who have HIV/AIDS and those who use medicinal cannabis.

So it only makes sense that, in one of the United States’ most historically divergent cities, that the two would walk in lock-step toward the mainstream.

Last weekend, for the second year in a row, an organization called Team Cannabis had a very large presence at AIDS Walk San Francisco.

Interestingly enough, it hadn’t always been that way. The recent AIDS Walk, then, was a reunion of sorts for the medicinal cannabis and the AIDS communities.

The Rolling Stones legend told how he has been unable to kick his weed habit despite giving up his other vices.

He admitted: “I smoke regularly, an early morning joint. Strictly Californian.”

Rocker Keith told MOJO magazine: “One of the most pleasant things to watch is a map of America [showing States where cannabis is legal ], where it goes, green... green... green.

"Whether it’s a good thing in the long run, I don’t know.”

Swedish police question Snoop Dogg for suspected drug use

HELSINKI (AP) — Swedish police say they briefly held U.S. rapper Snoop Dogg on suspicion of drug use after he performed a concert near Stockholm.

National police spokesman Fredrik Wallen says a police patrol in the city of Uppsala, north of the capital, stopped a car in which Snoop Dog was a passenger on Saturday evening after the concert. Police questioned him at a local police station and tested him for suspected drug use.

Wallen said Sunday the rapper was later released and was free to leave the country. Test results would not be available for "some time," he said.

He declined to give further details.

33 MYTHS ABOUT MARIJUANA YOU NEED TO STOPBELIEVING IMMEDIATELY

Out of all the drugs out there—legal and otherwise—weed can be singled out as the most misunderstood. Just think of all the rumors you've heard, from the abstinence-peddlers at D.A.R.E. class (more on them later) to your best friend's sister's ex-boyfriend who totally knew a guy that was related to the kid who overdosed on weed after sticking his head inside a jumbo-sized bong.

Because cannabis culture is shrouded in a dank cloud of mystery and intrigue, we decided to clear the air, once and for all, and give you the straight dope on every lie you've ever been told about Mary Jane. We promise not to blow smoke up your...well, you know.

NEW REPORT, YOUNG DANES REPLACE ALCOHOL WITH HEALTHIER CANNABIS

The Danish National Institute of Public Health has released its latest findings. School aged kids binge drink less alcohol but are replacing it with cannabis. Obviously in a perfect world, no school kids would bother with cannabis but in the real world, younger people have tried and will continue to try cannabis. It is certainly less damaging than booze, but too much of anything is going to create problems. Half of Danish school boys and a third of girls have smoked cannabis. A little over a third of all Danes have tried pot. That is a lot by European standards.

Durham takes us one small step towards a sensible policy on drugs

And the NHS could do with a dose of common sense

New figures show that more than a million people aged between 16 and 24 used cannabis in the past year. Now, those in the North-east who keep pot plants – the hallucinogenic kind rather than a Busy Lizzie – no longer fear a knock on their door and a trip to the police station.
