Farm-To-Table Weed Exists — & It Comes In A Mason Jar

I get a text message alerting me that my marijuana delivery will be at my apartment in four minutes. "You can track your driver by clicking this link," the message says, and so I do. I learn that my delivery person is named Pamela and by the looks of the Uber-esque map, she is nearly at my door. The weed is on its way to me via a recently launched service called Flow Kana, a self-described “farm-to-table cannabis delivery platform,” a phrase which on the surface is almost too Bay Area to handle: slow food meets medical marijuana meets software speak.

Will 59 Million More Americans Get Access to Marijuana in 2016?

California and Florida could both pass legalized marijuana measures next year.

Marijuana advocates have been gaining momentum in states that have yet to legalize marijuana, but supporters and those interested in the legalization efforts are undeniably watching most closely to see what happens in California and Florida.

Those two states have different histories when it comes to their stance on marijuana, but both are likely to have marijuana bills on their ballots in 2016, and if those bills pass, then roughly 59 million Americans could enjoy greater access to marijuana by the end of next year.

Marijuana growers are new drought target

t growers have been put on notice by state regulators that they will have to follow the same rules as the rest of the agriculture industry in protecting the state's drought-stricken water supply.

The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board issued an order Friday that will require medicinal marijuana cultivators to obtain permits to divert or store water. It also pushes them to use drip irrigation and other conservation measures, and avoid vegetation-clearing activities and other practices that add sediment and fertilizer to local waterways.

Understanding The Law of Medical Marijuana in California

Vape-friendly Bay Area dispensaries model for social pot use

SAN FRANCISCO — Visitors may be awed by the ubiquity and openness of people smoking and vaping cannabis in public here — from cafes and bars to parks and passing cars.

But where can cannabis users consume more discreetly — and have access to high-grade cannabis and state-of-the-art vaporizer technology?

Several San Francisco medical cannabis dispensaries offer, to varying degrees, working models for socialized public consumption of cannabis, providing lounge areas where qualified patrons vaporize — and in some cases smoke cannabis — never mind the local ordinance against the latter.

Seniors on medical marijuana? Here’s why

America’s senior citizens have become a key demographic for the cannabis industry.

Seniors are a major swing vote for legalization, and senior ailments make them uniquely suited for the pain botanical. While just a tiny fraction of cannabis consumers are seniors, that number is surging as Baby Boomers retire. Every day, 10,000 Americans turn 65 years old.

Over in Berkeley, a retired Catholic school principle and mother of three, Sue Taylor, is teaching medical cannabis to seniors. Taylor is also certified by the State of California to teach the state’s medical marijuana program to senior care facility nurses and managers seeking continuing education credits.
