A NASCAR spokesman said the logo and sponsorship by Veedverks had not been approved beforehand, which is standard procedure for the sanctioning body.

However, a spokesperson for the Denver-based Veedverks said in a Facebook post that NASCAR had approved the sponsorship.

Marijuana laws changing around the world

It's an issue that divides society - to smoke or not to smoke.

Throughout the world, a number of countries are slowing changing their laws around medicinal and recreational cannabis use. New Zealand's laws have stayed relatively the same for some time, with the exception of cannabis based products now being approved for use, but still tightly controlled.

So, which countries are leading the way in this area, and where can you use it either for fun, or for well-being?

Here in New Zealand, cannabis remains illegal to possess, and illegal to grow.

Medicinal use is tightly controlled but can be granted by the Ministry of Health.

Across the ditch it's a similar story.

Marijuana Health and Safety Hotline now available in Colorado

Health officials in Colorado have launched a new call center for people who have health questions related to marijuana use.

Pharmacists, nurses and toxicology experts from Denver Health’s Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center will be available to answer questions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“These medical experts can answer questions about occupational safety hazards for marijuana industry workers as well as questions about pesticides, toxins, additives, ingredients and contaminants in marijuana and cannabidiol (CBD) products,” officials said in a statement released to the media.

The number is 877.741.3777.

The line is not meant for anyone experiencing life-threatening emergencies, officials said. If you need immediate medical assistance, call 911.

This Cannabis Retreat Will Make the Vacation Industry More Chill

At a fine restaurant in Los Angeles, diners might encounter a sommelier who recommends a chardonnay with the fish or a cabernet sauvignon with the steak.

At a gourmet cannabis pop-up, the resident chef might serve a citrusy sativa (like the strain pink lemonade) with a citrus crudo or a heavier indica to make a person feel rooted before indulging in some wintery vegetables and lamb. It’s not about getting "high," cannabis chef Lauren Unger says, it’s about becoming “elevated.”

Colorado Seed To Sale System Leaking Cannabis Into Black Market

The METRC cannabis tracking system in Colorado is suffering some “leakage” from the supposedly stringent seed-to-sale system designed to prevent diversion from their regulated adult use cannabis market. Although regulators have determined there have been numerous violations, its impossible to tell just how much marijuana is escaping the system and making it to the black market where it is untaxed and unregulated. They have, in the meantime, issued over $680,000 in fines on licensees that have been deemed in violation of the laws.

The loopholes appear to be in the gray areas where there are allowable losses under the rules. Retail outlets have been fined for selling cannabis outside the taxed and regulated system after reporting cannabis as damaged or contaminated.
