David Beckham-backed cannabis skincare company launches first product line amid mounting losses

The company raised more than $20 million after listing on the London Stock Exchange earlier this year.

Earlier this year, Cellular Goods, a cannabis skincare company backed by David Beckham, became just the third cannabis company to list on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

The share price for Cellular Goods climbed by more than 300 per cent after its initial public offering, but the Evening Standard reports that, over the past fiscal year, the company has posted no revenue and lost £3.3 million ($5.6 million).

U.K. officers seize more than 1,000 cannabis plants from commercial property.

The recent seizure of 1,000 cannabis plants hidden in a commercial premises in Rainham, U.K. “will undoubtedly have an impact on drug supply on London’s streets,” police say.

The large discovery in the community, located about 26 kilometres from downtown London, is estimated to have a street value of £1 million ($1.7 million), the Metropolitan Police report in a statement.

Teen busted for dealing drugs avoids prison sentence, set to study law

The teen's apartment was raided as part of an investigation into an "upstream" dealer.

A U.K. teenager that was swept up in larger drug investigation has avoided jail, partly because he’s now enrolled in law courses at his local university.

Now 20, the teen was allegedly recruited and groomed to sell drugs to fellow university students by a “known supplier” in the area of Swansea, reports Wales Online.

The teen allegedly supplied “substantial” amounts of cocaine, cannabis, ketamine and ecstasy while living in an area popular with students.

His apartment was raided as part of an investigation into an “upstream” dealer and police found evidence of dealing on the teen’s phone.

There was nothing sweet at all about cannabis-infused treats found hidden inside a hedge that could have proved dangerous if discovered by children.

A treasure trove of cannabis sweets was found in a suspicious package tucked away in the hedge on a residential street in Ivybridge by a citizen. The person then handed in the cannabis products to the Devon and Cornwall Police in the U.K.

The man was arrested for drug driving after testing positive for cannabis.

A takeaway delivery rider was caught carrying five bags of cannabis together with a McDonald's meal, police say.

The 18-year-old man from Reading was stopped by officers on Wednesday and arrested for drug driving.

In a post on Facebook the roads policing team said: "I'm fairly sure your burger and fries don't come with a free bag or two of cannabis edibles."

Though the drugs were kept in a Deliveroo bag the moped rider was not working for the company at the time.

Woman's tumour shrank after taking CBD oil daily for more than two years: case study

A case study of a U.K. woman whose lung tumour shrunk without the aid of conventional treatments while she was taking a daily dose of cannabidiol (CBD) oil has scientists suggesting it may be worth studying the use of CBD oil further.

The report, published in BMJ Case Reports in October, describes how the woman’s tumour shrunk from 41 mm to 10 mm in roughly two and a half years.

Cannabinoids are similar to endocannabinoids, which are manufactured by the human body to help in various processes, such as nerve function, energy metabolism, pain and inflammation and immune function, among others.

Boris Johnson Open to Consider Legalizing Psilocybin Therapy in UK

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is open to the idea of legalizing psilocybin for therapeutic purposes in the UK, according to a recent conversation. By downgrading psilocybin’s classification to Schedule 2, the mushroom would be available for medical use and research.

BBC News reports that Tory MP (Member of Parliament) Crispin Blunt urged Johnson to review the country’s law to allow more research into the psilocybin’s potential as a therapeutic during Prime Minister’s Questions. Blunt said it has “exciting potential” for the treatment of mental health conditions such as depression, trauma and addiction.

Those with a recorded history of cannabis use in general practice records are at a much higher risk of developing mental ill-health problems such as anxiety or depression as well as severe mental illnesses, new research shows.

The findings indicated that following the first recorded use of cannabis, patients were three times more likely to develop common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.

Researchers at ­Scotland’s Rural College have found hemp – a plant best known for its ­hallucinogenic variety – can be used to make greener versions of ­environmentally damaging petrochemical products such as insulation, foam cushions and packaging.

A report released by the MS Society states that not nearly enough medical cannabis patients have been able to obtain medical cannabis through the National Health Service (NHS), despite research and firsthand accounts of its effectiveness as a medicine for MS patients.
