St Ann's drug trafficker jailed for eight years

A criminal with a history of drug offences has been jailed for eight years for having ammunition and drug trafficking.

Joseph Hall was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, September 16.

Judge Stuart Rafferty said he had heard about the better side of Hall, after letters to him told of his work for people in the community.

"One letter describes you as someone people will look up to," said he judge.

"I hope that is not so. Because the letters and your own letter only tell part of the story. That is the positive view.

"The negative view is of someone who, over and over and over again, has involved themselves in the trafficking of Class A drugs, and has used drugs himself over many years."

The science behind cannabinoids is clear: marijuana helps brain achieve breakthroughs in learning, consciousness and understanding

(NaturalNews) A great misunderstanding regarding the therapeutic value of the cannabis plant persists, even within some reform circles. Marijuana is often lumped into the same category as cigarettes, hard drugs, and even alcohol, with the latest trend being to designate cannabis as "less harmful" than these other substances. In reality, cannabis isn't actually harmful at all, and it can help improve the way people think, process and understand information, and even function physically.

Cannabis use may affect diabetes risk in the middle-aged

"People who use marijuana may be more likely to develop pre-diabetes than those who have never smoked it," The Independent reports, after a US study found a link between long-term cannabis use and pre-diabetes.

Pre-diabetes is defined as having abnormally high blood sugar levels, but not high enough to meet criteria for diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.

The study enrolled around 3,000 healthy young US adults in the mid-1980s. Over the following years, researchers carried out regular medical assessments and questioned participants about their use of cannabis and other substances.
