'Aging Hippie' Has Opened a 'Cannabis Cafe and Hotel' in England

"As you can tell from the empties, we've had a few people over this weekend," says 57-year-old Jonathan Falkus as we stumble past his overflowing recycling bins, crammed to the gills with bottles, and into the front room of his flat.

Located in the middle of a Guildford housing estate, Jonathan refers to his flat as a "Cannabis Café and Hotel." But, inside, it looks less like a fledgling business initiative intent on getting UK cannabis laws changed—or a hotel of any description—and more the home of a man who very much enjoys smoking weed.

Why I Have Joined the Liberal Democrats.

In my view the only rational choice for the next UK government is another Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition.

The Labour Party is simply a joke.  Miliband is an out-of-touch, Hampstead-socialist buffoon who was part of the team whose reckless borrowing meant that the banking crisis destroyed this country’s economy.  It is ludicrous that we should even consider giving the same people another chance.

Cameron is an oily, two-faced oaf who has transformed the Conservative Party into the Bullingdon Club Party, dominated by out-of-touch posh boys with quasi-fascists like Theresa May, Iain Duncan Smith and Chris Grayling as their attack dogs.

Guildford cannabis café branded 'a joke' by frustrated neighbour

The neighbour of a Guildford ‘cannabis café and hotel’ has described the premises as a joke after weeks of disruption and being unable to sleep.

John Liddicott, 51, said he has been plagued by a constant slamming of doors and the smell of the class B drug.

The night shift worker, who sleeps during the day, said: “I have lived here 15 years and I want to put my view across.

“As for it being a café and hotel, it is just a front for a local doss house where people can drink and use drugs.

“How can he really call it either of those things? Has he had health and safety round? Will he be paying business rates?

Cannabis Seeds Scotland

Dear Scottish grower,

I am sure you already know it but cannabis seeds are legal to buy in Scotland. Of course like in England, theses seeds are for souvenirs or Bird food only and it's forbidden and illegal to germinate those and growing cannabis too. But who knows? maybe one day growing cannabis will be legal in Scotland. Let's face it, Scotland will never have, except with a huge global warming, the best climate to grow marijuana outdoor. The Scotisch grower will have to look a bit more into Indica strains and autoflowering seeds.

UK General Election 2015: The rise of protest parties

“They’re all the same”. “It doesn’t matter what I decide”. “My vote doesn’t matter anyway”

Sound familiar? If you’ve been paying any attention to the noise surrounding this general election then you’ve probably heard all of these sentiments before. You might even agree with them, as nearly 35% of voters didn’t turnout and put a cross on the ballot last time around.

Cannabis candidate will meet dissidents

A PRO-CANNABIS candidate standing in next week’s Westminster election says he would meet the dissident gangs targeting people in Strabane for using the drug.

Barry Brown will contest the West Tyrone seat on behalf of the ‘Cannabis Is Safer Than Alcohol (CISTA) party. He is one of three CISTA members standing in the North, alongside Andrew Magorrian (South Down) and Glenn Donnelly (North Down).

Alongside seven other candidates Mr Brown put forward his case for election during a debate on Tuesday evening.

He claimed that the illegal cannabis market was costing the local economy £3 million every week. With proper regulation it could be grown, inspected, consumed and even exported from Northern Ireland, Barry Brown said.

UK: Police tests find nearly half of motorists had drugs in system

NEARLY half of motorists stopped by police since the introduction of new drug laws have tested positive for driving with substances in their system.

Staffordshire Police has used new roadside drug kits to test around 25 people since legislation came in to make it easier to prosecute those driving under the influence.

New powers, introduced in March, mean officers can now test for the presence of cocaine and cannabis at the roadside for the first time.

Marijuana isn't a gateway drug, if anything alcohol is

Because if we're to, as Obama put it, "follow the science not the ideology" with regards to marijuana and have some hope of getting it decriminalised/legalised on a wider scale in the world, we must continue to dispel the myths surrounding it.

A chief one, regurgitated time and time again, is that weed is a 'gateway drug', a slippery slope to more damaging drugs. But is this really the case?

England & Wales: Breaking Down 2014 Drug Policing Data

Past-year data in England and Wales shows a drop off in drug policing. But, with figures still well above where they were a decade ago, and an abundance of evidence showing that policing possession has little impact on use rates, why is the government still funneling resources into this futile practice?
