Update: Cancer patient illegally healing with medical marijuana identifies himself

CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) – A Camp Hill man says he had a choice: die or break the law. He decided to risk arrest by illegally using medical marijuana. He shared his story with ABC27 three months ago. It went viral and was shared over 10,000 times on Facebook.

ABC27 hid his identity to protect him and his family. Now, they are coming out of the shadows with an update on his health and a message for lawmakers.

Randal Ray Robertson, 56, was diagnosed with a rare bile duct cancer last year. After having a Whipple procedure, the cancer spread to his lungs and liver. He was given 9-11 months to live. For the past five months, he has been using a combination of chemotherapy and medical marijuana. He invited ABC27 to his most recent CAT scan.

Meet The Retired Police Detective Fighting For Legalized Marijuana

Howard “Cowboy” Wooldridge is hard to miss. In the middle of a New Hampshire snowstorm the day before the state’s primary vote, Wooldridge could be found at various presidential candidates’ events wearing a big belt buckle and a cowboy hat.

But possibly the most interesting part of his getup was his shirt.

The belt buckle, he explained, was from when he rode a horse by himself across the United States. And the cowboy hat? Aside from proclaiming his Texas roots, he said it helps him stand out among the thousands of lobbyists in Washington, DC.

Atascadero to reverse its marijuana cultivation ban

The Atascadero City Council is planning on repealing the medical marijuana cultivation ban it adopted just last month. Atascadero is set to become the first city in San Luis Obispo County to reverse course on hurried marijuana regulations.

Faced with a new state law, cities and counties in California had until March to adopt ordinances relating to marijuana sales and cultivation or cede control of the matter to state officials. Several cities in the county, including Atascadero, adopted ordinances over the past couple months.

In early February, however, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill repealing the state deadline.

6th medical marijuana dispensary opens in Mass.

Patients voiced hope and frustration as a medical marijuana dispensary prepared to formally open Tuesday in Lowell, marking the debut of the sixth dispensary in Massachusetts.

It has been more than three years since voters approved marijuana for medical use.

Executives of Patriot Care, operator of the Lowell facility, described the licensing process as a positive but long road, and said they opted for a cautious launch, offering just four strains of marijuana in the beginning but no other products, such as edibles, tinctures, or oils. They said they want to make sure they have ample supply. The first dispensaries that opened last year quickly ran into supply problems.

South Dakota: Tribe to move forward on marijuana facility after failed bill

After failing to gain the support of a legislative panel Tuesday, the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe will turn its gazes to the federal level in an attempt to re-open its shuttered marijuana grow facilities.

The tribe last year began growing marijuana on the reservation and planned to open a marijuana lounge on New Year's Eve. But after consulting with the attorney general and the U.S. attorney's office for the district of South Dakota, the tribe opted to burn their crops in November for fear that the facility would be raided by federal agents.
