Cannabis seltzers: Here’s what you need to know

Weed drinks have been taking off, but many would say they’re still not at the same level as other cannabis products. Vapes, edibles and stronger batches of cannabis flower have been selling well in the U.S. (and elsewhere) for a variety of users, from newbies to experienced cannabis consumers.

Cannabis drinks stand in an awkward place; while there’s a growing interest in a “California sober” lifestyle, a lot of people don’t get why they should drink cannabis from a can when they can consume it in other more traditional ways. The weedy flavour sometimes associated with the drinks may also be tough to get used to.

5 Reasons Weed Is Not Affecting You

Marijuana can affect people in different ways. Here are some reasons why you might not be feeling the hit after a smoke session.

There’s a lot of variety when it comes to the cannabis experience. Nowadays, there are dozens of options to try, from strains to different methods of consumption. Some people prefer strains that make them sleepy while others prefer ones that produce an energetic and joyful effect. And then there are those consumers who just don’t see what the fuss is about because they’re not feeling the effects.

While cannabis can be used for multiple purposes, it should provide the consumer with an experience that’s soothing and pleasant. If every time you smoke, you’re not getting anything out of it, there must be an explanation behind it.

More Canadians buy legal pot, still cautious about edibles

A new study from Dalhousie University shows Canadians are less eager for pot edibles than they were prior to legalization, and more have turned to legal sources for weed than before.

The study, titled “Perceptions of Canadian Consumers: Cannabis & Edibles – A New Assessment” compares Canadian attitudes toward cannabis products with previous studies conducted in 2017 (prior to legalization) and in 2019.

“We were intrigued that Canadians seem to be less enthusiastic about edibles since cannabis became legal,” said Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, Senior Director at Dalhousie’s Agri-Food Analytics Lab.

Indigenous-owned and operated cannabis platform launches on National Indigenous Peoples Day

Red Market Brand (RMB) will give Canadian consumers an Indigenous option when it comes to purchasing Health Canada-approved cannabis products.

Founded by Isadore Day, former Regional Chief of Ontario, and Christian Sinclair, Onekanew (Chief) for the Opaskwayak Cree Nation, the long-term goal of the platform is “to establish a national network of First Nation-licenced producers who will supply Red Market and other First Nation cannabis products — all approved by Health Canada.”

“The Red Market Brand is for full supply chain inclusion,” Day tells The GrowthOp, adding that RMB is meant to help correct what is seen as the government’s failure to meaningfully consult with Indigenous communities on the Cannabis Act.

How to Have a Blunt Conversation About Cannabis With Your Dad

Depending on your relationship with your dad or the father figure in your life, cannabis may or may not be a comfortable topic of discussion— especially if you factor in his personal perspective on cannabis and cannabis consumption.

But cannabis entering more prominently into the discourse of the day, and with Father’s Day coming up to boot, now is a great time to break the ice once and for all and talk to your dad about his views on the matter.

3 Rare Marijuana Side Effects

The side effects of marijuana are usually predictable, but there are some exceptions.

Marijuana side effects are usually pretty low-key. While we all have likely have dealt with a couple of paranoid highs and the occasional bout of cottonmouth, these side effects are usually nothing too grave. For a small group of people, rare cannabis side effects have made appearances.

While they’re not at all common and need much further research in order to be wholly understood, severe side effects have been recorded. Here are three of them.

B.C. government to allow home cannabis delivery starting July 15

Home delivery of cannabis is an advantage for B.C.’s illegal producers that Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth says is ending as of July 15.

B.C. had the biggest illegal cannabis market in Canada when recreational use was legalized in 2018, and Farnworth says allowing online ordering and delivery is another step to a goal of getting to 70 per cent market share for the network of government and licensed retail stores in four years. The COVID-19 pandemic has restricted retail store attendance and illegal dealers have benefited.
