A guide to marijuana microdosing: How tiny hits of weed could be the future

More and more entrepreneurs are focusing on tiny doses of marijuana.

Given the tumultuous and traumatic past few days, anyone would be forgiven for rolling up something large and potent for the weekend. However, a new marijuana mantra has been emerging as the drug has become increasingly legal and that is: less is more.

Microdosing, the practice of taking tiny amounts of marijuana for all the benefits and less of the side effects, is being increasingly embraced - and it's as much by professionals as professional stoners.

Four Ohio Communities Decriminalize Marijuana

Tuesday's election notched several wins for marijuana law reformers across the country, including those in four Ohio communities.

Three states legalized recreational marijuana and the vote was too close to call in a fourth state, according to unofficial election results. Four states legalized medical marijuana.

And four Ohio communities passed local ordinances reducing penalties for marijuana possession to none.

Marijuana decriminalization measures passed in Newark in Licking County, Bellaire in Belmont County, Logan in Hocking County and Roseville, on the border of Perry and Muskingum counties. A measure in Byesville in Guernsey County failed.

Canadian Marijuana Stocks Soar Following California Legalization

Already setting new record highs for months, shares of Canadian marijuana stocks have reached lofty new territories after California voted to legalize marijuana.

On Tuesday, while many were mulling the shocking surge to the White House by Donald Trump, the state of California passed Proposition 64, which will allow residents 21 years and older to buy and possess up to one ounce of cannabis for recreational purposes and to grow up to six marijuana plants for personal use. The new measure will create an environment for state-licensed businesses to set up retail marijuana sales. With a proposed 15 per cent sales tax, the state is expected to take in an added $1 billion in tax revenue from legalization.

Canada Could Thrive from Marijuana Legalization in US States

Brendan Kennedy, the CEO of Privateer Holdings, says he expects Canadian producers will enter into partnerships and joint ventures with their neighbours.

Canada’s marijuana industry could benefit after at least six states representing twice the population of Canada voted in favour of legalizing the drug, either recreationally or medically.

Voters in California, Massachusetts and Nevada approved on Tuesday the use of recreational cannabis, joining four other states and Washington, D.C., that have similar laws in place.

Florida, North Dakota and Arkansas approved medical marijuana, which would bring the total number of states with such a system to more than two dozen.

Nevada Braces for Legal Marijuana Industry Boon, Lawmakers to Set Rules

Recreational marijuana will be legal in Nevada come January 1 after voters handily approved Question 2 on Tuesday with roughly 54 percent of the vote.

Nevada joins a wave of states to approve recreational marijuana for adults, painting the West Coast green from Washington to California.

“They’re prepared to meet what this market is going to demand,” said Matthew Gardiner, the Vice President of Shango Las Vegas, which is a medical pot dispensary boasting 72,000 square feet on Boulder Highway and Twain.

The seed to sale shop is bracing for a potentially billion dollar boost to businesses in Nevada.

Will Team Trump Bust the Marijuana Business?

Supporters of the marijuana industry should be celebrating this week’s passage of eight state ballot measures to permit its use by adults. That promises to triple the industry’s size in coming years.

But harshing their buzz are several key allies of President-elect Donald Trump, such as his running mate Mike Pence, who are skeptical about the benefits of marijuana legalization.

Not surprisingly, many in the cannabis industry had expected Democrat Hillary Clinton to cruise to victory and were stunned when it didn’t happen. Now, they’re awaiting signals of how Trump will approach cannabis, even as the industry is set to expand significantly.

Here's how a Silicon Valley billionaire helped get marijuana fully legalized in California

Californians overwhelmingly said yes to recreational marijuana on Election Day.

Those in favor of the decision owe a big thanks to billionaire Silicon Valley fixture Sean Parker.

Parker has been radio silent regarding Proposition 64, though his dollars said otherwise.
