Uruguay to Sell 3 Types of Marijuana in Drug Stores

Registered Uruguayan consumers will be able to access three types of marijuana in drug stores with high, medium and low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol and correspondent levels of cannabidiol, said Milton Romani, president of the country's national drug office, on Saturday.

“There are three options, depending on the effect of each one ... (we are) trying to recommend the lowest level for beginners,” Romani told Reuters at the 2015 Expocannabis taking place in the country’s capital Montevideo.

Authorities were offered various genetically modified plants with controllable effects within the framework of the recent decriminalization of marijuana aimed at eradicating the illegal commercialization both foreign and domestic.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s administration has reiterated Canada’s commitment to legalizing cannabis, reaffirming the government’s intention to end the failed and harmful policy of prohibition. Marijuana retailers navigating changes as medical and recreational markets merge

Ellensburg’s two recreational marijuana shops — Cannabis Central and The Green Shelf — could both begin selling medical-grade marijuana on July 1, 2016.

The Liquor and Cannabis Board approved both shops for medical endorsements, which would allow them to sell higher-grade marijuana products to patients when the recreational and medical markets merge on July 1.

Rob Hendrix, who owns Cannabis Central, said it is the responsibility of recreational shops to step up and offer medical marijuana, especially in Kittitas County where there are so few medical dispensaries.

The fascinating science behind cannabis and dry mouth

Almost every cannabis consumer has experienced it: that dry, pasty sensation rightfully referred to as cottonmouth.

For some it’s not a big deal – and if anything it’s a good reminder to hydrate.

For others it can be seriously annoying, interrupting sleep, work, or conversation. That witty remark that was on the tip of your tongue? Forget it. It’s stuck there forever, along with that bite of sandwich you thought would be such a great idea ten minutes ago.

Seriously though, of all the side effects of marijuana, what exactly is the deal with cottonmouth? Why does it happen, and what’s the best thing to do about it when it does?

As with all your cannabis questions, we at Green Flower have got you covered.

High-potency pot smokers show brain-fiber damage

SKUNKED  A new study links marijuana with high levels of THC to damage in a major brain connector.

People who use especially potent pot show signs of damage in a key part of their brain. The results, reported online November 27 in Psychological Medicine, are limited, though: The small brain scanning study doesn’t show that marijuana caused the brain abnormality — only that the two go hand-in-hand. But the findings suggest that potency matters, says study coauthor Tiago Reis Marques, a psychiatrist at King’s College London.
