Medical pot conference brings hard-hitting speakers to Portland

It exists, says company chairman Frank Fabrozzi, to support medical marijuana users whose cannabis medicines are not covered by conventional health insurance programs.

McDonald has had cancer as well as complications from a 2008 bite of a brown recluse spider that included a staph infection and heart failure. Throughout the day, he will inhale the Cannabis Sativa strain vapors in order to elevate his mood.

However, marijuana has various medicinal benefits.

“The absorption is that much greater when you vaporize rather than burn with a match, with the puff of a joint or smoking a pipe”, D’Amico said.

Claims that marijuana smell offensive go up in smoke, odor ruled nicer than garbage

The smell of marijuana is not inherently offensive, the Oregon Court of Appeals ruled on Wednesday. The court tossed out charges against a man who was convicted of crimes after an officer inspected his home when smelling the drug.

Comparing the smell of marijuana to perfume or pungent spices, the three-judge panel stated that pot could reasonably be considered offensive if its odor remains “very intense and persistent,” but that otherwise it doesn’t clear the threshold to become “physically offensive.”

Users describe the terrifying effects of the drug some are calling 'weaponized marijuana'

Synthetic marijuana, also referred to as "replacement cannabis," "K2," and "Spice," is a lab-produced mind-altering drug that aims to mimic the effects of marijuana, but is known to have unpredictable and sometimes dangerous effects, despite its marketing as a safe, legal alternative to marijuana.

New York City's police commissioner, William Bratton, recently said that the drug, which he referred to as "weaponized marijuana" is of "great and growing concern" to the city's police force, which has seen a spike in hospitalizations from the drug.

Majority of Canadians support decriminalizing marijuana

More Canadians than ever support decriminalizing marijuana, according to a new Ipsos poll conducted on behalf of Global News.

Ipsos found 65 per cent of Canadians (29 per cent strongly/36 per cent somewhat) support the decriminalization of marijuana so that possession of small amounts would no longer carry a penalty or fine.  Conversely, 35 per cent of people oppose (18 per cent strongly/17 per cent somewhat) decriminalization.

“It’s not an overly contentious issue and what I mean by contentious is, you’ve got certain people who really agree with it and groups who really oppose it,” Sean Simpson, vice president of Ipsos, said in an interview Wednesday.

E-spliff on sale in UK designed to relieve pain minus the high

IT IS the first time I’ve been sent cannabis through the post but I’m unfazed – I’m probably not doing anything illegal.

My delivery is a MediPen. It’s an e-cigarette made using a strain of marijuana high in cannabidiol (CBD), the compound thought to give cannabis its purported medical benefits, and low in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the one that gets you high.

It’s not the first low THC e-cigarette in the UK – a similar device called KanaVape has been on sale since last year – but MediPen is the first designed to give a high dose of CBD. It contains hemp oil imbued with 20 per cent CBD compared with KanaVape’s 5 per cent.

Marijuana tax revenue supports Colorado public schools

It’s been a year and a half since the legalization of marijuana went into effect in Colorado. Business for purveyors of marijuana was good from the beginning, but has soared in the past year, according to data collected by the Colorado Department of Revenue.

The state collected $9.7 million in taxes related to marijuana sales in June 2015, up nearly $5 million from the same month last year. By May, the state had collected more than $88 million in marijuana taxes in 2015.
