E-cigarette traders in Gloucester are the latest to warn against dangers of 'vaping' cannabis oil

Young people have been warned – do not use cannabis oil in e-cigarettes.

An 18-year-old woman is on the road to recovery after police suspect she tried to consume the substance using a vaporiser.

She was left in a 'serious condition' and was rushed to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital on Friday.

Police believe the teenager purchased cannabidiol online, a cannabis derivative.

Arif Ali, who works at Vape King, which specialises in e-cigarettes in the market in Easthate Shopping Centre, said: "Many people think that these liquids are on the same level as vape liquids but they are totally different.

"There needs to be more awareness of the differences between the liquids.

Cannabis vaping teen 'recovering well' in hospital

A teenager who was hospitalised after inhaling cannabis oil she bought online is "recovering well".

The 18-year-old was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital on Friday.

Police said she became seriously ill after she bought a product containing oil derived from cannabis plants which can be inhaled through a vaporizer.

Officers believe she may have had a "severe reaction" to the product which contained Cannabidiol.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said they were "very happy that the outcome for this young woman appears to be good" and reiterated their advice "never to buy or use any kind of drug obtained online".

Teen Seriously Ill After Taking Online Cannabis Product

Gloucestershire Police say they believe a teenager, who is in a serious condition in hospital, could have suffered a severe reaction to a cannabis product she bought online.

It is believed that the teenager purchased a product online containing Cannabidiol which is described as an oil derived from the cannabis plant, and can be inhaled through a vaporizer, like an e-cigarette.

The 18-year-old woman was admitted to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital last night.

Police say they can't confirm taking the substance was the direct cause of the illness. 

Inspector Mark Duncton said, “Our advice is never to buy or take any kind of drug or drug derivative bought online.

Police said she bought a product containing oil derived from cannabis plants which can be inhaled through a vaporizer.

Officers said she may have had a “severe reaction” to the product but cannot confirm a direct link.

Insp Mark Duncton of Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “Our advice is never to buy or take any kind of drug or drug derivative bought online.

“These products can pose a very serious danger to your health; you do not know what is in them or what their affects might be.”

Drug dealers jailed after cannabis factories uncovered

Police who brought down a cannabis factory insist crime does not pay after three drug dealers were jailed.

Altin Laska, 27, Mircea Rusu, 24, and Nicolae Pasc, 25, all admitted conspiring to supply cannabis at Exeter Crown Court on Friday.

Devon and Cornwall Police said Albanian born Laska was handed a five-year prison term, while Romanians Rusu and Pasc both received twelve month sentences.

Their arrests came as part of the force's Operation Cesta, which uncovered four cannabis factories in Exeter, Newton Abbot, Dunkeswell and Minehead which contained a crop worth more than ÂŁ400,000.

Trio jailed for ÂŁ100000 cannabis cultivation

Three men have been sentenced to a total of eleven years in prison after cannabis with a street value of ÂŁ100,000 was found at two addresses in Blackpool.

Police raided a warehouse off Highfield Road and another property in Layton back in 2014.

Two men from Blackpool and another from Preston were jailed yesterday following a trial at Preston Crown Court. 

On Friday 27th June 2014, enquiries led officers to an industrial warehouse just off Highfield Road, Blackpool. Due to a strong smell of cannabis coming from the building, officers immediately forced entry with the assistance of our Operational Support Unit colleagues.
