Legal marijuana home delivery could come to Seattle

A Washington state House bill wants to create a pilot program for a legal marijuana home-delivery service in Seattle.

Here’s how it would work.

The pilot program proposed by state legislators would allow five existing licensed recreational marijuana stores in Seattle to offer delivery services to Washington state residents over the age of 21, according to Mayor Ed Murray’s office. The pilot program would also provide a framework for delivery requirements, employee training and enforcement.

The bill’s first reading was January 12.

Pot vs. Tobacco: Which Is The True Cancer Risk?

As the reality of legalized non-medical marijuana looms large, Canadians want to know if it's as dangerous as cigarettes.

Or is pot actually "infinitely worse," as former Prime Minister Stephen Harper famously declared during the recent federal election?

It's neither, science now asserts. In fact, Harper couldn't have been more wrong - at least in terms of pot's purported threat as a deadly carcinogen. So suggests the U.S. government's National Cancer Institute (NCI), which even claims that cannabis can actually combat the risk of cancer.

14-day notice shocks medical marijuana dispensaries in Seattle

Seattle's medical marijuana dispensaries are scrambling after receiving a 14-day notice from the state Liquor and Cannabis Board.

The CPC in Georgetown has served thousands of patients since 2010. It works with hospitals, specializing in hard-to-find treatments for chronic disease, cancer, seizures and PTSD.

"We were always going to do this stuff anyways," founder Jeremy Kaufman said while pointing to new security cameras.

Kaufman is making a lot of changes to his building, adding new security cameras, constructing new walls, removing doorways, and clearing out his basement filled with cannabis plants. It's all part of applying for a new marijuana retail license, required by legislation that's combining medical and recreational pot under one regulatory system.
