Why Morgan Freeman Thinks Marijuana Should Be Legalized

Marijuana legalization has been a hot topic lately and many celebrities have used their status in the media to vocalize their own thoughts on the matter. There are those we’ve grown accustomed to speaking loud and proud of their marijuana use (Snoop Dogg anyone?) but then there are those that to some may seem unexpected. One in particular is Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman who just pretty much destroyed the argument against legalizing weed

Paris protesters call for fresh cannabis legalisation laws

Sporting T-shirts and caps printed with marijuana leaves and with joints hanging from their lips, hundreds of people demonstrated in Paris on Saturday as part of a world march calling for the legalisation of cannabis.

Crowds of protesters, many dressed in Jamaican colours, made their way through the streets of the French capital from the Place de la Republique to Bastille calling for the legalisation of recreational marijuana use.

"What do we want? Legalisation," chanted the crowd, wreathed in clouds of hashish smoke and gathered behind a banner reading "Another drug policy is possible" and placards calling for "Ganga for all".

Some, like 16-year-old Julien, came because they wanted to "smoke in peace".

Here’s how big the legal pot business will be by 2020

Legal marijuana is already big business in America. Colorado alone sold more than $700 million worth of legal weed in 2014, its first full-year of legal recreational and medical sales. Three other states and the District of Columbia have legalized recreational marijuana. Twenty-three states and Puerto Rico have legalized medical marijuana, and revenue for the industry as a whole has been growing nearly 34% a year for the past five years. And it’s only expected to keep growing.

These five numbers show just how big legal American marijuana could be in five years.

$13.4 billion

Legalized marijuana would not trump employers' drug policies

Ohio could legalize marijuana if a proposed amendment collects enough signatures and is approved by voters.

But those who are looking to light up as soon as the law goes into effect may want to hold off.

According to an analysis of ResponsibleOhio’s proposed constitutional amendment to legalize marijuana in Ohio, employers’ drug policies would still have control over whether or not employees could smoke marijuana.

So if your company has an anti-drug policy, a potential law legalizing marijuana would have little to no impact.

St Croix: He Makes the Case for Medical Marijuana

An Open letter to the Governor, the Legislature, the Judiciary and the People of the Virgin Islands: The recent declaration by the Governor of Puerto Rico legalizing medical marijuana has brought much conversation on the airwaves here in the Virgin Islands. I would like the Governor and the Senators along with the Judiciary to understand what it is exactly that they will be writing, executing and judging the People of the Virgin Islands when they address the subject of Medical Marijuana. I'd like the people to think about the patients that need and use marijuana when they eventually go and vote for this law.

Now, the building might become a medical marijuana production facility.

Next week, county officials will consider rezoning the property.

It has a lot of people in Roswell talking.
