Curious about where marijuana will be sold in Canada and how much it will cost? Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been tight-lipped about regulations, but Denis Arsenault - CEO of OrganiGram, a licensed medical marijuana producer located in Moncton, New Brunswick - has an idea of what the recreational marijuana market might look like.

Here's his expert opinion on what might be in store for the future of marijuana in Canada.

When will we legalize?

Last week, I wrote about the need for research into the positive effects of marijuana. I chose this as my first topic because of how important I believe it to be. If I had to list in order of importance that would be issue 1A and issue 1B would be the decriminalization of marijuana.

This is another area where progress has been made, but there is still much work ahead.  

Many states are hoping to have votes on marijuana laws this election. Our state is no exception.  The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana like Alcohol, a ballot-initiative backed by the Washington-based Marijuana Policy Project, has the same formula led to legalizing weed in Colorado. MPP has helped states lobby for and pass reform of Marijuana laws since founded in 1995.

The Hindu festival of spring called Holi, will be celebrated over 23 and 24 March across India. It is best known for its celebrations with colour and water, where people throw "gulaal" (coloured powder) on each other or mix it with water to use {it} in squirt guns and water balloons, without bothering too much about ruining clothes.

Former Chicago Bulls guard and three-time Duke All-American Jay Williams says it’s about time the NBA gets more progressive when it comes to marijuana.

Marijuana might be legal in Colorado, but the industry still has battles to fight.

Yet, for marijuana infused food products, no set standards exist. Currently, the food and beverage products containing tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the psychoactive ingredient in pot, have absolutely no oversight, and there is no way a consumer can know how potent the snack item is or if it contains an allergen. Users of these products really have no idea what they are smoking or eating and this unknown can be deadly.

Watching marijuana become legalized in a select handful of states over the past few years has been interesting and exciting for a number of reasons.

Currently, the New Zealand cannabis industry is worth millions of dollars per year and is totally unregulated due to the legal status of cannabis. This has led to all sale and distribution being controlled by career criminals who have no ethics when it comes to selling this product to children or trying to push harder damaging drugs to their customers.

It is also causing many ill people in this country to suffer unnecessarily.

Our government bought into the "war on drugs", started in the US.
