The Truth Behind Marijuana and Exercise

The stoner stereotype has been busted yet again with more and more athletes testing positive for marijuana. When athletes like Clifford Drusinsky claim to use marijuana to help train, it's hard to imagine the "couch-locked stoner" stereotype sticking around much longer.

Exclusive: Val Venis Talks Attitude Era, Owen Hart, And Medical Marijuana

Hello, ladies! Those two iconic words set ablaze the hearts of many female wrestling fans in the late 1990s when Val Venis made his seductive entrance into the arena. As a smooth saxophone played in the background, Venis swayed his hips and many times locked his lips with lucky members of the WWE Universe.

Marijuana legalization as viewed from the trenches of youth: Karina Baffa (Opinion)

As a recent high school graduate, I have seen the short- and long-term effects of marijuana from all aspects of my life. I believe that the opinions and viewpoints of our younger generation are vital when it comes to the decision to legalize marijuana.

Even though this drug has positive medical uses and effects, it is still a mind-altering drug that needs to be legally regulated and used responsibly when utilized for recreational purposes.

Even where it’s legal for parents to smoke pot: What about the kids?

Like the parent of any toddler and kindergartner, Jared wants to keep certain things out of reach.

Liquor is stored out of sight in a cupboard. The household cleaners are safely kept behind childproof locks. And the marijuana is stashed high on a shelf in a fireproof lockbox.

Evenings fall into a familiar routine. Family dinner. Baths. Then, after their daughters are snuggled in for the night, Jared slips out onto the back deck of their District apartment and smokes a now-legal bowl of marijuana.

Newcomers to Costilla County lured by legal marijuana, cheap land

SAN LUIS VALLEY — The concrete was soupy, a wet mush unlikely to harden properly, so Sundance Stadtler added sand to the mixture he was pouring into wooden forms to make footers for his new home in Costilla County. Stadtler, a 19-year-old from Vermont, arrived in the San Luis Valley in February with a plan to build a home and grow marijuana legally.

He purchased 5 acres of desert property for $3,250 and set up a tepee for temporary lodging as he began building.

Stadtler is one of a number of people lured to the county in the San Luis Valley by legal marijuana and cheap land.

Officials say the population boom is creating problems for schools, social services and other agencies.

In 2010, when the Affordable Care Act was signed into law, we knew that new opportunities were emerging for drug users who were disconnected from the traditional healthcare system. Long-ignored and marginalized by a fragmented "sick care" system that has historically profited from their episodic, crisis-oriented care, our participants are finally starting to get the attention of reformers.

Suspect in major marijuana bust claims he's family man, 'First Church of Cannabis' member

Police say they’ve confiscated more than 70 marijuana plants, packaged pot, cash and a gun from a metro Atlanta home.

Investigators told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik exclusively that they received a tip from the Missouri Highway Patrol that Wesley Johnson, 38, was moving large quantities of marijuana from his Johnson Ferry Road home.

“Prior to them arriving to the front door they could actually smell the marijuana emitting from the location,” said Sgt. Ron Momon. “They knocked on the door, met the individual. He identified himself. They asked him for consent to search the place and he denied the consent to search.”

Prohibition too costly for us all

Yvonne Abraham’s argument for the legalization of recreational use of marijuana is one of the most cogent arguments I’ve read on any subject (“Marijuana is a losing battle”). I’m not a user, and I never have been. But I’m offended that our current prohibition generates income for criminal gangs, leads to targeting of black users, and wastes police and court resources over a substance no worse than alcohol or tobacco.
