The creed includes weed for these Colorado Christians

As snow began to fall outside, Deb Button snuggled up on her couch, fired up a joint and spoke of the nature of Christ.

"Even if Jesus didn't smoke weed, he'd still be a stoner," she said, exhaling a white cloud.

Her kitten sniffed the air curiously.

"Jesus was peaceful and loving. He went from house to house and was always accepted," she explained. "Only a stoner could do that."

Police called to house because a front door had been left open find 200 cannabis plants

Police found 200 cannabis plants after a neighbour called them out to a property because the front door was open.

The innocuous call was made to Coventry Police officers from a person living in Paynes Lane, Hillfields , at 11am on Friday.

When the resident had left their property their neighbour’s door was closed but when they returned it was open - and nobody was home.

Fearing that burglars may have targeted the home the neighbour dialled 101.

When police arrived they quickly realised that the property was actually being used to grow cannabis.

They found a total of 200 plants being grown inside - but the people responsible had fled.

Marijuana comes in many forms these days. We can purchase traditional buds, oils, concentrates, beverages, and even lotions and creams.

Now, marijuana is being produced in powdered form. Powdered marijuana uses the same technology that powdered sports drink mixes and powdered alcohol use to come conveniently packaged for long-term storage.

This study shows that 6.5% of high school seniors are smoking marijuana daily compared with 6% 10 years ago and and only 2.4% in 1993. 4% of 10th graders said they smoke marijuana every day and 18% within the last 30 days. 5 Major Developments That Change How We Should Think About Marijuana

Here's the latest research on pot and drinking, pot and opiate dependency, pot and IQ, pot and migraines, and pot and obesity.

Scientific discoveries are published almost daily rebuking  the federal government’s contention that cannabis is a highly dangerous substance lacking therapeutic efficacy. But most of these findings are relegated to obscure, peer-reviewed journals and, therefore, often go unnoticed by the major media and the general public. Here are five new cannabis-centric studies that warrant mainstream attention.

Australia: Female cannabis smokers more likely to use daily

according to the latest National Drug Strategy Household Survey, an increasing number of women are smoking weed daily.

Of the 1.9 million Australians over 14 who have smoked cannabis in the past year, only 700,000 of them are women.

But women are now more likely to be daily smokers, with 14% of women smoking weed daily, compared to 12% of men.

Jan Copeland is the head of the National Cannabis Prevention and Information Centre at the University of New South Wales and says women tend to become addicted to cannabis more quickly than men.

"Estrogen seems to increase sensitivity to THC, the getting high part of cannabis, and because of that they crave to use it more often,"

Legal Marijuana In Canada Could Bring $5-Billion Windfall For Governments: CIBC World Markets

OTTAWA -- Call it Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's secret stash.

A new report from CIBC World Markets says Canada's federal and provincial governments could reap as much as $5 billion annually in tax revenues from the sale of legal marijuana.

CIBC economist Avery Shenfeld crunched the numbers using current estimates of Canadian recreational pot consumption, the revenue experience in U.S. states that have legalized, and other factors -- such as prevailing "sin tax" rates on alcohol and tobacco.

"The bottom line is that federal (and) provincial governments might reap as much as $5 billion from legalization, but only if all the underground sales are effectively curtailed," writes Shenfeld.

"That's on the order of 0.25 per cent of GDP, no barnburner."

Three out of five New Mexico residents support the legalization and taxation of recreational marijuana, according to poll results released Thursday.

The survey by Albuquerque-based Research & Polling Inc. found that 61 percent of residents would back legislation to legalize pot sales among adults 21 and over, while 28 percent were opposed.

“We just said straight up, ‘Do you support or oppose a bill that would legalize, regulate and tax marijuana sales for adult use in New Mexico?'” said pollster Brian Sanderoff, president of Research & Polling.

Synthetic marijuana remains a problem for NFL

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday that "synthetic marijuana falls within the purview of the policy” since the substances are illegal drugs.

“Synthetic marijuana is not currently part of the basic testing panel, but the medical advisors have the discretion to add it to an individual’s testing panel as appropriate,” McCarthy said.

That “discretion” occurs after a player is already in the league’s drug program via a previous violation, according to the joint drug agreement between the NFL and NFL Players Association.

Messages left for the NFL Players Assocation on Wednesday and Thursday by USA TODAY Sports were not returned.
